My homie BJ shared this amazing feel good video of Kid Prez giving us a pep talk straight from the heart …of a kid, dressed in a suit, doing and saying kid stuff so you already know …funny, witty and adorable! But besides the obvious his message really did speak to me. No spoiler but this line had me chucklin’ –
“It’s like that dude Journey said: DON’T STOP BELIEVING …UNLESS YOUR DREAM IS STUPID… THEN YOU SHOULD DREAM A BETTER DREAM”
“The world needs you to stop being boring. Yeah, you. Boring is easy. Everybody can be boring. But you’re gooder than that.”
…lol, ohhmann, love the kids, love em’! #TellAFriend …share!
This adorable kid, known as Kid President is 9yr old Robby Novak from Tennessee who is on a mission to make grown ups less boring! He is not a member of any specific political party, in fact when asked he responded with “I’m not in a party — I am a party.” – blessed his heart!
A twitter friend shared this link with me and it literally brought me to tears. I will forever be moved by the human spirit. It is undeniably the greatest of all gifts each and every one of us possess inside our souls. I think many shy and hinder to acknowledge their own true strengths, perhaps unknowing of what they are truly capable of, or more commonly, perhaps they are simply too afraid to uncover their own greatness. Nonetheless, I know there is a greatness in all of us.
Please watch this video, this man made a choice to better himself, commit to a plan and in just 10 months lost 140lbs. From being unable to walk without assistance to now running and sprinting like the next man …I salute him for this hard work, resilience and sheer discipline!
When I first saw this video I watched it 4 times over, back to back, all while thinking, is she for real?!!!!! I was utterly floored and inspired by Dana’s strength and resilience to complete her task …there really isn’t too much to say so instead I’ll end it here and remove my hat because this chick deserves respect! Watch!
Dana Linn Bailey – Physique Competitor, Bodybuilding
CROSS TRAINING
What you’re about to watch is Dana complete the following giant set;
20 x bench @ 135lbs (approx. her body weight)
20 x Squats @ 135lbs
20 x Clean & Press @ 65lbs (approx. half her body weight)
REPEAT 3-5 times — and you thought 1 set was enough, think again!
There is no rest between each exercise. Sets such as this will increase her strength endurance, builds lean muscle and increases her heart rate that acts as cardiovascular exercise as well (fat burner on crack!).
Some real kick ass stuff!

A few weeks back I had the immense honor to meet the great, Kai Greene. Better yet, as I entered my very first posing class and stood among professionals in the sport of Bodybuilding Mr. Greene quietly and inconspicuously walked in late, removed his red hoodie, removed his red sweatpants and slipped off his red Reeboks and joined the single file line up facing the mirrors. I stood sweating bullets flexing every muscle in my body (well, attempting too) and almost choked as I realized it was him, Kai!
Weeks before I had spent hours watching video footage of him training, prepping for competition, eating, and explaining his philosophies on the sport and explaining the mental discipline that goes into competing in such a sport, and I was immediately in awe. What an amazing athlete I thought.
Besides the all that brawn and muscle you see there is so much more involved outside of pumping iron. I’ve grown to admire the professional Bodybuilder. It is their ability to master the ‘mind muscle’ that captivates me because I’ve come to learn that true power belongs to the mind and not any muscle we house in our bodies. The typical clichés we all have heard before, for instance “mind over matter” actually holds real significance. Somebody I am currently training with recently told me that in order to exercise my full potential in this sport I must first exercise & build up my mental strength, that I need to find & acknowledge my mental weaknesses so I can retrain myself & mental conscious to overcome weakness when it matters. The “when” is in the weight room, boxing ring, yoga class, on the track, or any other form of training I give my body too. I/we cannot lend our minds to weakness because it will only deter our bodies from achieving greatness. This invaluable advice has not left my conscious since.
Video: An inspirational training video using clips of Kai Greene speaking about his philosophy regarding the origin of successful action.
Do you want to change your life? If there is no change in input, there will be no change in results. You must use your time wisely, so what will you have wished you done 45 days from now? You can either get the proper direction and methodology to get in the best shape of your life in 45 days or you can continue seeing the same old results. The choice is yours. Every minute you wait, every minute you procrastinate, every minute you decide to sit out are precious minutes wasted from the end result.
It is quite simple. All those that have achieved success in life know that there is no substitute for hard work. I always get a buzz after watching this video. Please watch:
“As a kid I always idolized the winning athletes. It is one thing to idolize heroes. It is quite another to visualize yourself in their place. When I saw great people, I said to myself: “I can be there.” – Arnie
The more I research the sport of bodybuilding the more respect I gain for the greats that have shown the world what the human form is truly capable of. More interesting, for me at least, is my growing understanding of these individual’s mental strength & discipline not only towards their craft but towards life and how to best succeed and challenge yourself beyond your wildest dreams.
With that said, I came across this audio video of perhaps the greatest athlete bodybuilder our generation has ever witnessed, Mr. Schwarzenegger and I was truly inspired by what he has to share. It only made sense to share this here on my blog so please watch, listen. It runs no longer than 5mins but I encourage that you make notes because if you’re anything like me, you’ll want to reread and marinate over your notes to train your subconscious to apply & execute! Enjoy….
Q:I need a new challenge for my abs. My current ab workout is tired & boring plus I want to burn some belly fat while I’m toning, help?!
So you want those abs to pop huh?! The best kind of core workout in my opinion are movements that also incorporates cardio. You want to blast the fat around your core as well as simultaneously work those core muscles, easy!
Anything you can do without equipment is my preference. Means you can bust out into a core workout during those commercial breaks
I found this video I think is a perfect example of all of the above:
I’d suggest doing 4-8 sets of these movements and then incorporate planks and side-planks targeting those oblique muscles in between sets of 2 – Holding planks will allow you to catch your breath (kinda!) in between these sets but still keep those ab muscles engaged & stimulated.
Deion (Pilar’s husband) most definitely picked himself a winner. Winner …hmm, what an understatement! This insanely gorgeous body birthed 5 children, yes, FIVE. Amazing and amazing. I really can’t speak on how much I admire her. I’ve always given much respect to fit, strong bodied women but when you can achieve this, after childbirth …5 times, then damn it my hat goes off to you! I’m waiting for Shape magazine to drop an article on her training secrets and exercise regime because we have a lot to learn ladies!
I’m quite aware that this video went viral & circulated many blog sites a few weeks back but here it is again, and I know you ain’t mad either.
There isn’t too much for me to say because Ms.Guerra says it all in her video post below. She talks us through her favorite gluteus maximus workouts that keep her rump shaker tight and toned. With a booty like this I think it’s fair to say we can adopt her advice with confidence!
Are you trying to look correct in those jeans? Well pay attention, these movements might just bring the pain to your backside BUT the plus is they’re going to be kind to you come Summer 2012!
